Good Grief?
What if... Grief can be a good thing?
I read a little booklet that got me to thinking. Can grief be good? According to the author, Granger E Westberg, yes. He said that grief is natural, and we can learn from those times of grieving. He quotes a study which says that people who face up to and wrestle with their grief, come through the process stronger, deeper and better able to help others with their own grieving. That's scriptural.
2 Corinthians 1;4, "He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."
So. If you are grieving something or someone, whether a "big" grief or a "small" one, it sounds like it's a good idea to allow God to comfort you as you walk through your experience. Then you'll be able to help someone with a similar experience in the future.
Be blessed!
